Day 6 - PRAYING FOR OUR CITY

SATURDAY (DAY 6)

PRAYING FOR OUR CITY

Spend 2-3 minutes confessing your sin to God and ask Him to forgive you as we begin our time together.

1 TIMOTHY 2:1-4 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

Have you ever taken time to reflect on WHY you are where you are? Why you live in the neighborhood you live in. Why you live in the city you live in? Why you attend New Life?

Spend 3-4 minutes asking God to reveal himself to the people who live on either side of you. If you know their name pray specifically for them

God has a plan for our city. For people to be saved…marriages restored…. Students to experience the presence of God.
As we listen to this song (God of This City) ask God what your part is in changing our city.

Spend 7-8 minutes praying for our city officials (Mayor Drovetta) city council, law enforcement officers. Pray for wisdom, strength, and understanding as they lead. In your journal, write a short letter letting them know that you appreciate their service and are praying for them.

Spend 5-6 minutes listening for God to speak to you… write down ANYTHING you think He is saying to you tonight.

Prayer Date:
Sat, 02/06/2010 - 9:00pm
