Day 3 - Praying For Spiritual Growth

As a SUPPLEMENT to to the prayer time tonight, light 12 candles and label them with the Ministries of our Church... (Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Celebrate Recovery, Student Ministries, Children’s Ministries, Life Groups, Barnabas Card Ministry, Prayer Ministry, Missions Team, Greeter Team, Worship Team, Meal Ministry) Turn off the lights and use only the candle light tonight as you pray.

Spend 2-3 minutes confessing your sin to God and ask Him to forgive you as we begin our time together.

Hebrews 6:1-3 So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. 2 You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.

1 Peter 3:17-18 I am warning you ahead of time, dear friends. Be on guard so that you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. 18 Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

Our spiritual journey is not always easy … the path is narrow and we must navigate over some very treacherous ground. It is important that we are skilled travelers surround ourselves with skilled traveling companions.

Spend 3 minutes asking God to show you areas in your life that you need to develop more skill. (write them down)

If you are a part of a Life Group here at New Life find any others here that are part of that group and quickly get together. If you are not part of a Life Group… join with a one of the groups near you

Spend 7-8 minutes praying for the people in your group. Remember what we learned Sunday about Fancy prayers, Long prayers and repetitive prayers. (Pray silently or out loud.)

There are 12 candles burning on the stage representing the 12 major ministries at New Life

Spend 5-6 minutes praying for the Leaders of those ministries as well as those who are involved in them.

Spend 5-6 minutes listening for God to speak to you… write down ANYTHING you think He is saying to you tonight.
